New consumer rights and advertising legislation - Recognize and avoid the risk of a warning: Lecture by Dr. Hans-Jürgen Ruhl and Dr. Jan-Felix Isele at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Frankfurt am Main on 26 June 2015

Mid last year, the Act on the Implementation of the Consumer Rights Directive entered into force giving rise to numerous changes for consumers and businesses alike. The new rules make a lot of things easier but they also carry risks for operators of online stores. Almost one year has passed since the law has been amended. And still, not all online business operators have updated their websites – easy prey for initiators of warning letters. Missing or flawed mandatory information is easy to be tracked down through a search in the Internet and the next thing you know is being put on notice. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Ruhl and Dr. Jan-Felix Isele will give a lecture on this subject matter on 26 June 2015 at the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They will provide an overview of typical violations of competition law both under the new law on consumer rights and under the general provisions of the Unfair Competition Act and will provide practical tips as to what needs to be observed when designing promotional campaigns and sales activities and what approach would be best in case of a warning.
